Breakfast and excursion to the Cappadocia region, located between three Turkish cities: Kirsehir, Niğde, and Kayseri. We will visit the Göreme Valley, an incredible Byzantine monastic complex comprised of rock-hewn churches adorned with beautiful frescoes; the small troglodyte villages of Uchisar, a natural fortress; Ortahisar, with the fairy chimneys of Ürgüp; and the area, with its double and triple chimneys; where we will also see a local stone craft center and stones with traditional and imperial designs from the period. We will continue to Avanos, a pottery village. At the end of the day, we will conclude the visit at a carpet cooperative where you can observe artisans weaving Turkish carpets. Dinner and overnight stay. (This day can be combined with a hot air balloon flight over the Cappadocia region.)
